Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Yangon reported that 20 Indonesian citizens have escaped from an online gambling compound in KK Park, Myawaddy, Kayin State, Myanmar.
“As of Wednesday night, we received confirmation from the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok that Thai authorities reported about 20 Indonesians had crossed into Thailand via the Moei River,” the embassy said in a statement Thursday (23/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
KK Park, controlled by the Border Guard Force (BGF), is notorious for online scam and gambling operations. Over 300 foreign workers, including around 75 Indonesians, fled the area after Myanmar’s military (Tatmadaw) prepared for a raid.
The embassy said the 20 escapees are being verified by authorities in Mae Sot, Thailand. Others remain trapped in the conflict zone. The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon continued to coordinate with Thai and Myanmar authorities to secure safe evacuation routes and urged Indonesians to avoid illegal overseas job offers and high-risk areas like Myawaddy and Shwe Kokko.
