Inp.polri.go.id - Jombang.  The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, confirmed on Sunday (29/3/2026) that the 2026 Hajj departure schedule remains unchanged, with preparations reaching nearly 100% completion despite ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

"As of now, there are no changes to the timeline. Pilgrims will begin entering Hajj dormitories on 21 April 2026, and the first departures will commence on 22 April 22026," he during a coordination meeting in Jombang, East Java, as cited by antaranews.com.

Minister Yusuf, affectionately known as Gus Irfan, likened the current state of preparations to a wedding where the venue, catering, and logistics are already secured, and the organizers are simply waiting for the event date.

Addressing regional security concerns, he noted that the Indonesian government is continuously monitoring the situation in the Middle East and coordinating with international partners. He expected that conflicting parties would respect the sanctity of the pilgrimage and lower regional tensions to allow Muslims worldwide to perform their worship in peace.

To ensure the integrity of the Rp 18 trillion Hajj budget, the Ministry has integrated professional oversight from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Attorney General's Office, and the Indonesian National Police  (INP) to manage procurement and financial accountability for the 2026 hajj season.
