Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has announced that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program will follow a standard five-day distribution schedule per week, with critical exceptions for high-priority regions.
"The MBG distribution for frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged areas and regions with high stunting prevalence will be conducted six days a week, from Monday to Saturday," said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Jakarta on Sunday (29/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
To ensure the program's effectiveness, the agency is utilizing the 2024 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) from the Ministry of Health as its primary benchmark. Regions in Eastern Indonesia, Sumatra, and Papua have been identified as high-priority zones due to elevated stunting rates.
The BGN is currently collaborating with local education and health departments to finalize data on student populations and school locations to ensure the meals reach those most in need of daily nutritional intervention.
