Inp.polri.go.id - Malang. The Malang Sub-regional Police have named 21 suspects, consisting of 15 adults and six minors aged between 15 and 17, in the destruction of a sector police office and three police posts in late August 2025. 

“Two reports became the basis of the case, and from further investigation, 21 suspects were identified, six of them minors,” said Malang Police Chief Superintendent Danang Setiyo during a press conference on Monday (22/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The attacks, triggered by calls circulated via WhatsApp, targeted four sites, namely Pakisaji Police office, Kebonagung traffic post, Kepanjen Simpang 4 monitoring post, and the Kepanjen traffic accident post. The incidents took place in the early hours of 31 August 2025, with suspects traveling by motorbikes from one location to another.

Police said the suspects were provoked by social media narratives linked to ongoing political and social tensions. They face multiple charges under the Criminal Code and the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, carrying a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
