Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government will roll out a value-added tax (VAT) discount on airline tickets and other transport services during the Christmas and New Year holiday season 2025. 

The incentive will be applied through the VAT Borne by Government (PPN DTP) scheme as part of the 2025 economic stimulus package.

“A VAT subsidy is prepared for air tickets and transport services on specific days, just like before, at 50 percent,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto at a press briefing on Monday (22/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

The measure follows proposals from the Ministries of Tourism and Transportation and comes after a similar mid-year holiday discount in June–July 2025 under Finance Ministry Regulation No. 36/2025. In addition, the government and businesses will revive the National Online Shopping Day, better known locally as Harbolnas, on 10–16 December 2025, targeting R0 35 trillion in transactions.

The transport incentive is part of a broader 8+4+5 policy package designed to sustain growth, expand jobs, and attract investment amid global uncertainty.
