inp.polri.go.id - Jember. The Jember Sub-regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Unit arrested 27 suspects in drug abuse cases in one month from April 16 to May 6, 2025.

"A total of 27 suspects were arrested in the operation, which is part of the police's commitment to eradicating illegal drug trafficking in the jurisdiction of Jember Regency," said Jember Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Bobby A. Condroputro in a press conference at his police Headquarters on Tuesday (5/14/2025).

During the past three weeks, police have succeeded in uncovering 20 drug cases, with a total of 27 suspects consisting of 25 men and 2 women.

"From the suspects, officers secured evidence of 339.14 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 3 sheets of LSD-type narcotics, 3,944 hard pills of Trihexyphenidyl, Dextromethorphan, IDR 9,645,000 in cash, 31 digital scales and 5 mobile phones," he said.

He explained that the actions of the perpetrators will be charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2), Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum prison sentence of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years, and a maximum fine of IDR 10 billion plus one third.

For hard drugs, they will be charged with article 435 and Article 436 paragraph (2) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 17 of 2023 concerning Health with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years and a maximum fine of IDR 5 billion.

"We will continue taking firm action against anyone involved in the distribution and abuse of drugs. We will give no room for dealers or users to harm our younger generation," he said.

Bobby also appealed to the public to play an active role in reporting to the police when drug parties or suspicious things related to drugs are found.
