inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sony Sonjaya, revealed that the number of Free Nutrition Meal (MBG) kitchens that have passed national verification as partners is now 29,400.
"Currently, 29,400 kitchens have been verified nationally, and 27,900 are operational," said Sonny on Friday (5/29/2026).
"We are waiting for the results of the actual data validation for the remainder, especially for remote areas," he continued.
By presenting data on the progress of verification of prospective BGN partners, he explained that the national need for MBG distribution currently covers 82.9 million beneficiaries.
Beneficiaries include not only students, but recent data also shows an increase in the number of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and educators.
"So, our priority is pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, toddlers, students, and educators," said the Deputy Head of the National Education Agency (BGN).
He further explained that the government's budget efficiency policy also impacts BGN's operations. This efficiency is achieved by cutting several activity budgets.
"So, BGN welcomes this government policy without compromising the quality (of the MBG). It remains at Rp. 15,000 for the large portion and Rp. 13,000 for the small portion," added the Deputy Head of BGN.
The large portion, with a budget of Rp. 15,000, is for students starting from grade 4 of elementary school, pregnant women, and educators. Meanwhile, the small portion of Rp. 13,000 is distributed to toddlers up to grade 3 of elementary school.
"That (budget) consists of operational funds, incentives, and raw materials," he said.
