Around 300 joint personnel of Indonesian Military Force (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (INP) have been deployed to maintain the security of the open plenary meeting for the recapitulation of the 2024 election vote count at the regency level at Emeneme Yauwere Building. Mimika Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent I Gede Putra emphasized that his party have prepared his personnel to ensure the activity goes smoothly. “We dispatched our personnel with the aim to ensure that the today’s plenary session goes smoothly without any disturbances,” said I Gede Putra. Furthermore, he hopes that all parties, including public and all constituents to unite in monitoring the activity until the end. “If we look at the schedule, the recapitulation process of Mimika Regency is already late and this affect the recapitulation process in provincial level. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the recapitulation process remains to go smoothly,” I Gede Putra explains. Furthermore, he adds that the security pattern conducted by his unit includes tight security for Emeneme Building and patrol around Mimika. “We conduct this security operation to prevent any disturbances from various threats who might disturb the plenary session,” I Gede Putra says. In his conclusion, I Gede Putra emphasized the importance of going through legal process for parties who are dissatisfied with the result. “We invite all parties to act wisely. We already have the existing mechanism for those who have issue with the recapitulation result and we can assure you that all process goes according to the applied regulation,” conclude I Gede Putra.
