The Biak Numfor Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Damianus Dedy Susanto explains there are no significant disturbances during the election process in the region, from the voting day to the plenary session on Tuesday (3/12/2024). Damianus also ensured that regional situation in general remains safe and conducive. “In general, Biak is safe. The General Election Commission plenary session in regency and province level also have been completed. There are some small noises during the process, but I think it is normal in democratic process, so in general, yes everything is under control,” explained Damianus. Furthermore, Damianus adds that all police personnel involved for the election security operation have been pulled back by their unit. Previously, several legislative candidates from various political parties protested the result of the election vote in Biak. Responding to the issue, Damianus and his party asked them to report the case to Election Supervisory Body and Constitutional Court.
