The BMKG relayed the earthquake information via its official Twitter account @infoBMKG. The seismic event took place at around 4.12 am local time, with the epicenter located 156 kilometers southwest of Banda Aceh, at a depth of 10 kilometers, and does not pose a tsunami threat.
