"As of today, we have received IDR 22 billion from the people of Indonesia," said Baznas Distribution and Utilisation Manager Saidah Sakwan on Thursday (2/11/2023). She urged all elements of the nation to continue to lend a helping hand to the Palestinian people, antaranews.com reported. "We are targeting IDR 50 billion and I am sure it will be collected quickly," she said, adding that the funds would be used to help the victims in Gaza, ranging from logistical needs to health and post-war infrastructure repairs. To achieve the goal, Baznas has been raising at least Rp 100 million in each of its branches spread across 514 districts and cities in Indonesia. "From Baznas alone we will be able to raise be IDR 50 billion relief fund, not to mention the companies and zakat institutions," she said. Baznas has sent 21 tonnes of food, medicine, baby food, diapers, milk, hygiene kits, clothes, blankets, jackets and winter clothes to Palestine. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
