The quake's epicenter was located in the sea at a depth of 30 kilometers, with coordinates 8.78°S, 110.27°E, approximately 95 kilometers southwest of Gunung Kidul.
Tremors were also felt in Karangkates, Nganjuk, Sleman, and Malang, with intensity ranging from II to IV on the MMI scale.
BMKG has confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat, as reported by antaranews.com.
