Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) and Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police will deploy 7,000 joint security personnel to safeguard events marking the nation’s 80th Independence Day, scheduled for 15 to 17 August 2025 in Jakarta.
“For personnel, we have prepared nearly 7,000, including reserve forces,” said the INP Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho on Thursday (14/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com
He said security will cover event venues, traffic routes, VVIP access points, and public festivities at the National Monument (Monas) square, Thamrin, Sudirman, and the Presidential Palace.
Chief Agus confirmed that traffic diversions are prepared if needed due to expected large crowds.
Presidential Communication Office head Hasan Nasbi announced a grand Pesta Rakyat (People’s Festival) around Monas square and the Palace on 17 August 2025, featuring competitions, live music, free food, and evening fireworks.
The celebration will run from 8 am to 2 pm and resume from 4 pm to 10, capped with the Karnaval Bersatu Kemerdekaan carnival
