Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Director General of Corrections, Inspector General Reynhard Silitonga stated that currently they have arrested hundreds of drug dealers. He stated that the hundreds of drug dealers from around Indonesia such as Jakarta, Palembang, North Sumatra, and others. All of the drug dealers have been imprisoned in Nusakambangan cell.
“The 890 drug dealers were from various region, and all of them have been imprisoned in Nusakambangan cell,” said Reynhard during conference pers in Indonesian National Police Grand HQ, South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12/2023).
He revealed that the drug dealers were under maximum security in Nusakambangan. Each person is placed in one cell.
It is worth noting that one of the international cases that have been uncovered by the police are Fredy Pratama drug case. Although he is still in pursuit, police suspected that Fredy is in hiding in Thailand and his drugs smuggling has been successfully dismantled.
Indonesian National Police, working with Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Customs Departement, Royal Thai Police, DEA, Customs and Excise, Prosecutor's Office of National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Directorate General of Corrections, and other institutions have able to confiscate 10.2 tons of methamphetamine and 116,346 ecstasy pills belonging to Fredy Pratama drug syndicate. Other than that, investigators also able to confiscate assets worth of Rp10.5 trillion.
