Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of Indonesian National Police (INP) applauded for their commitment in eradicating drug crimes by uncovering notorious drug network of Fredy Pratama. His drug network smuggled methamphetamine and ecstasy pill internationally.
Bareskrim chief, Police Commissioner General Wahyu Widada stated that the case able to uncover thanks for their cooperation with various international security forces. He adds that Fredy Pratama is still in hiding in Thailand.
“Under the commitment of INP chief, we are committed to eradicate drug crimes and this is the proof,” said Wahyu during conference pers on Tuesday (9/12). He admits that Fredy’s drug syndicate is very structured and well organized.
Wahyu adds that Fredy Pratama has devised a structured communication through Black Berry Messenger, which is now rarely used by many. Moreover, Fredy also used many bank accounts from various banks.
“There are 406 bank accounts with a total balance of IDR 28.7 billion. The accounts have been blocked,” said Wahyu furthermore.
The uncovering of the drug case resulted police in confiscating 10.2 tons of methamphetamine. However, INP stated that only 100-500 kg were smuggled to Indonesia.
INP stressed that in impoverishing the suspects, investigators will also confiscate assets of the arrested. However, some the assets are still in Thailand and is in progress of confiscation.
