The surrender was allegedly done because the person concerned was afraid. “"Yes, maybe he was scared, because he knows his comrades in the group have already been caught by the authorities," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division (Kabag Penum) of the National Police (Polri), Commissioner Gatot Repli, S.I.K., Friday (20/5/2022). He revealed that the suspect with the initials MRW (22) considered the police during the pursuit. However, police investigators will still process the alleged violations of terrorism crimes committed by MRW even though he has surrendered. "Of course it's better to surrender, and also I implore to the others who are still in the group, maybe it's better to surrender," he concluded.
