inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, called on all educational institutions to implement a child-friendly School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) to ensure a safe and comfortable learning space for children.

"With this child-friendly MPLS, we invite all parties to work together so that we can educate our children, the children of Indonesia, to become great children, leading to the Golden Indonesia Generation of 2045," he said at the National Movement for Safe and Comfortable Spaces for Children (RANA) event on Monday (7/13/2026).

Abdul Mu'ti stated that the creation of a child-friendly educational climate aligns with the President's strategic direction, which has been legally affirmed through Ministerial Regulation Number 6 of 2026.

"This Friendly MPLS not only emphasizes the importance of building a socially safe, physically clean, healthy, and beautiful school environment, but also provides insight and awareness for our children about the importance of maintaining friendliness in the digital world," he said.

Abdul Mu’ti considers child-friendliness in the digital world to be crucial given the high threat of bullying and violence, including violence that occurs online.

Referring to Microsoft's survey, which shows the still low Digital Civility Index in Indonesia, Abdul Mu'ti emphasized the need for balanced technological literacy education for students, where children are not only required to have digital competencies but are also required to be equipped with ethical manners when interacting.

The Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education also announced that his office will issue a new Ministerial Circular (SE) regulating restrictions on device use for students under 16 years of age.
