inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo monitored the construction of a Bailey bridge in the Agam area of West Sumatra. He hopes the connecting route will be operational soon.
The monitoring took place virtually from the North Sumatra Regional Police on the sidelines of the release of 22 containers of humanitarian aid from INP for disaster victims in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra on Saturday (2/14/2026).
"Today we have checked the progress of the Bailey bridge construction, especially in the Agam area of West Sumatra," said Sigit.
On that occasion, Sigit also interacted with the local community. He emphasized that police personnel are working together with residents to ensure the bridge's operation is complete.
"We also interacted with the community and expressed our hope that the bridge can be used soon," Sigit said.
The Bailey bridge construction itself is being carried out in Subarang Aia and Sawah Laweh.
The bridge will undoubtedly accelerate the restoration of access and mobility for communities in disaster-affected areas, while also supporting the smooth functioning of local social and economic activities.
According to him, this construction also follows President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to continue assisting all communities, especially those affected by natural disasters.
