Accelerating Towards Herd Immunity, Central Java Regional Police Targets 49,700 Daily Vaccinations

inp.polri.go.id – Semarang. Police guarded the vaccination events started by the government until it reached 100% of the targeted population to enhance public immunity and prevent Covid-19 transmission.

The Covid-19 vaccination called Presisi Serentak vaccination in the area of Central Java Regional Police was held in Bhayangkara Hospital of Semarang on Saturday (27/11/21).

Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, said that the vaccination event was conducted simultaneously across Indonesia, and the Chief of National Police led the vaccination event in Bogor. "In this simultaneous vaccination event, Central Java Regional Police held the event in 53 vaccination spots such as Departmental and Sectoral Police, targeting elders, students, and the general public", he said.

Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi explained that the vaccination event targets 35,054 people in Central Java, centred at Bhayangkara Hospital and uses Sinovac, Moderna, and Pfizer vaccines.

"Police vaccination coverage has reached 2.2 million people, and the Central Java Regional Police vaccination doses are 49,000 vials spread across Departmental Police with the expectation of soon to be finished, and the vaccination coverage in Central Java is targeted to reach 70.2% by the end of December. But we would keep the vaccination events optimally", Chief of Regional Police said.

Chief of Regional Police added that the vaccination achievement in the Greater Semarang agglomeration area is 88.85% and 102.34% in the Greater Solo region. Therefore, Central Java Regional Police would keep vaccinating to achieve the herd immunity target by the end of December. "Vaccination would keep conducted by Central Java Regional Police to help the vaccination achievement by the central and regional government", he explained.

Chief of Regional Police asked people to adhere to Health Protocols despite the vaccination events being on the way. For now, the daily target for national vaccination is 2,300,000 doses, Central Java Regional Police 49,700 doses, and Central Java province 248,502 doses.
