Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Aceh Regional Police Chief Inspector General Marzuki Ali Basyah visited Ketambe, Southeast Aceh on Tuesday (20/1/2026) to spearhead recovery efforts and deliver humanitarian aid to flash flood victims.
Partnering with several foundations, the police provided 300 mattresses, essential food supplies, and temporary housing allowances (DTH) to displaced families.
"I am personally delivering this aid to identify the most urgent requirements of the victims, especially as we prepare for the holy month of Ramadan," Chief Marzuki said, as cited by antaranews.com.
The mission coincided with Southeast Aceh becoming the first district to transition from emergency response to the recovery phase. To support this shift, the Aceh Police deployed heavy machinery to North Aceh to clear debris and dredge silted drainage systems.
“The excavator was deployed to clear flood debris and overgrown roadside areas so access can return to normal as quickly as possible,” said Aceh Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Joko Krisdiyanto.
The operation took place in Dusun Bidari, Langkahan District, North Aceh Regency. Chief Joko said that the work involved clearing drainage systems to prevent further water buildup and reduce future flood risks.
