Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Sub-regional Police has questioned two experts in the investigation of alleged human smuggling of Rohingya refugees into the province.
The experets were a criminal law expert from the Faculty of Law at Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh and an immigration official from the Immigration Division of the Aceh Regional Office.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, Assistant Superintendent Fadillah Aditya Pratama, said, "The investigation into the people smuggling case involving Rohingya ethnic group has reached the stage of examining experts.
"The expert witnesses clarified that every foreigner entering Indonesian territory must have a valid and current visa, unless stipulated otherwise based on laws and international agreements," he said
The investigators are set to conclude the case files for the three suspects, namely MA, MAH, and HB, who are arrested under human trafficking charges.
