With the recent rampant illegal racing that often disturbs public comfort and security in Aceh, Traffic Director of Aceh Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Iqbal Alqudusy vows to act firm. “Illegal racers will be dealt with firmly. We are not joking as we believe this is for their own good. Especially with most of them still minor,” says Iqbal on Friday (3/15/2024). Iqbal implores public, particularly parents, to proactively watch over their children to prevent them from joining the illegal activities. Parents are also urged to forbid their children to ride a motorcycle if they do not have the driver’s license. On the other hand, police will intensify patrol around the area to prevent illegal racing and other violations and criminal actions on the road. Iqbal says that the initiative demonstrates police commitment in providing peace and comfort for the people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. “We will continue to convey security messages and intensify our patrol on the street to prevent illegal racing. On the other hand, we would like to remind parents and the general public to proactively watch over their kids and to prevent them from participating in the negative activity,” implored Iqbal.
