inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) revealed the active role of community elements in providing public understanding regarding radicalism and terrorism in order to mitigate the dangers of such ideology through a national preparedness approach.

"We hope that with the involvement of the community and civil society organizations, efforts to mitigate radical terrorism can be more effective and efficient," said Head of BNPT Eddy Hartono quoted by Antaranews, Thursday (5/15/2025).

Furthermore, Eddy emphasized that the involvement of the community will later optimize the implementation of the National Action Plan for the Prevention of Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism (RAN PE) policy.

Thus, various thematic programs in RAN PE are expected to be more targeted and optimally implemented in the community.

Meanwhile, Head of the FSUI Da'wah Division Gus Fauzan expressed his support for the prevention of radical terrorism carried out by BNPT.

He also said that all elements of society must be involved in preventing radical terrorism, including clerics and preachers.

"We support the efforts to prevent radical terrorism carried out by the BNPT. FSUI, including clerics and preachers, play an active role in preventing the spread of radical terrorism," said Gus Fauzan.

The meeting between BNPT and FSUI marks a concrete step in strengthening collaboration between the state and community organizations and religious organizations as strategic partners as proof that every element of the nation is ready to protect Indonesia from the threat of violent ideology.

National preparedness is a condition of readiness to anticipate the occurrence of criminal acts of terrorism through a planned, integrated, systematic, and continuous process. National preparedness is one of the main tasks of BNPT.
