Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) will auction the seized Iranian-flagged tanker MT Arman 114 along with its full cargo of light crude oil, following a court ruling ordering its confiscation as state assets.
The online auction will be held on 2 December 2025 through the state platform lelang.go.id.
“This auction covers one package consisting of the tanker MT Arman 114 and 166,975.36 metric tons of light crude oil,” said AGO spokesperson Anang Supriatna on Sunday (23/11/2025), as cited by antaranews.com.
The case stems from a maritime patrol by the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), which detected MT Arman 114 conducting an illegal ship-to-ship transfer with the Cameroon-flagged vessel MT S Tinos while both ships had intentionally turned off their Automatic Identification System (AIS). Drone footage showed hoses connecting the vessels and visible oil spills originating from MT Arman 114.
The Batam District Court later sentenced the vessel’s captain, Mahmoud Mohamed Abdelaziz Mohamed Hatiba, to seven years in prison and ordered the tanker, built in South Korea in 1997, to be seized for the state.
