Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has issued a travel ban on businessman Muhammad Riza Chalid, recently named a suspect in a major oil and refinery corruption case involving PT Pertamina.

“Riza Chalid is now on the immigration watchlist. We’ve coordinated with immigration authorities to ensure he cannot leave the country,” said AGO spokesperson Harli Siregar on Friday (11/7/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Authorities believe Riza is currently outside Indonesia, with reports placing him in Singapore. The AGO is coordinating with its attaché there to locate and pursue the suspect.

The travel ban follows Riza’s failure to respond to summons. If he continues to ignore legal procedures, he may be officially declared a fugitive.

Riza is among nine new suspects accused of mismanagement and corruption in crude oil and refinery operations from 2018 to 2023, alongside former state-oil company PT Pertamina executives and affiliates from vendors PT Trafigura and PT Mahameru Kencana Abadi.
