inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman says the government has prepared a market operation to maintain food prices ahead of Ramadan to Eid Al-Fitr in 2025.

“We will be doing a massive operation, particularly on meat, sugar, cooking oil, and others,” says Andi Amran following a Closed Meeting with inter-ministries/institutions related to food price.

“Because we are seeing an increase in food prices, such as in cooking oil, sugar,” adds Andi Amran.

However, Andi did not reveal the detail on the food price increase on the said items. He also stated that the market operation is not fixed yet as his party will have to discuss it further on Wednesday (2/19/2025).

In the meeting, the ministries will determine the schedule of the market operation. Andi hopes that in Ramadan, people can fast solemnly and comfortably as the food price is stabilized, even lower than last year.
