inp.polri.go.id - Aceh. The Aceh Regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate has successfully thwarted a drug trafficking of meth with a suspect with the initials of IM (33) arrested in East Aceh.

In the arrest police also confiscated from him the evidence of 4 kilograms of meth.

“Besides the meth, we also seized three handphones, five bank accounts, a passport, and a motorbike,” says the Director of Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate, Senior Superintendent Shobarmen on Monday (2/17/2025).

In his statement, he explains that before the arrest, police had carried out the investigation for 21 days until acquiring the information linked to IM.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, a police team went to the field to monitor the suspect from afar. Police have seen the suspicious behaviour of IM from Idi City to Peureulak with a motorbike, driving on a high speed. From the police inspection, IM was seen carrying a package in a plastic bag.

After the police gave chase to IM, police found that the items inside the plastic bag were meths packaged in green bags.

“Following the investigation, we found that there are another two meth packages in the luggage,” said Shobarmen.

IM says that he got the meth from a person with the initials of BG from Aceh. As of now, the suspect is now being held at Aceh Regional Police for further investigation.
