inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital reminded the public to use social media wisely ahead of the demonstration scheduled to take place in Jakarta on Thursday (8/27/2026).

The ministry asked the public not to spread hate speech, provocations, or information that could incite unrest in the digital space.

The Director General of Digital Space Supervision at the ministry, Alexander Sabar, stated that the public plays an important role in maintaining a conducive atmosphere, not only in public spaces but also on social media.

"Of course, we hope that those who use social media will use it properly and responsibly, and will not engage in hate speech or provocation," Sabar said in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/26/2026).

Sabar expressed his hope that the public would use social media responsibly during the demonstration.

According to him, a conducive atmosphere must be maintained collectively, both at the demonstration location and in the digital space.

The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs also urged the public not to be easily provoked by provocative content and to verify the accuracy of information before sharing it with others.

Meanwhile, the United Pati Community Alliance (AMPB) ensured that the demonstration, which will be held in front of the Indonesian Parliament Building on Thursday (8/27/2026), will proceed peacefully.

AMPB Coordinator Supriyono, also known as Botok, said the demonstration will have two main demands related to the eradication of corruption.

The protesters urged the government and the DPR to immediately pass the Asset Confiscation Bill and to encourage the implementation of the death penalty for corruptors in accordance with legal provisions.
