inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) revealed that the government emphasizes the importance of pursuing economic growth without sacrificing environmental sustainability.
"Indonesia, with its growing population and the extraordinary goal of achieving a Golden Indonesia by 2045, needs to pursue high growth," said AHY at the biennial PYC International Energy Conference 2025, as reported by RRI on Saturday (8/23/2025).
AHY believes that to achieve the goal, it can be supported through food and energy self-sufficiency.
However, he continued, the main challenge is how to achieve this target without damaging the planet's sustainability. According to him, the best solutions must be found, including through the exploration of new and renewable energy sources.
"The question is whether we can achieve this without sacrificing the sustainability of our planet's environment. We must seek the best solutions, including exploring various energy potentials that are increasingly clean, new, and better," he explained.
He further stated that infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting energy security while protecting the environment. He also emphasized the importance of balancing economic growth and environmental sustainability.
"This is a forum for dialogue, and once again, as a Coordinating Minister, I want to provide support, because everyone needs infrastructure support. We must synchronize and align energy security, including various sustainability efforts," he explained.
