Inp.polri.go.id – Bitung. Peace calls roared by the representatives of organizations and Minahasa communities following the bloody conflict in Bitung. The declaration has also became Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) commitment in bringin peace to the region.
The peace declaration states all parties vows to end all conflicts peacefully and support law enforcement in carrying out legal process against the perpetrators transparently and just.
Moreover, representatives strongly reject all kinds of provocations from all sides, albeit from social media or any other invalid source. Lastly, all pledges to maintain security, harmony, and order in Bitung City.
North Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Setyo Budiyono welcomes the peace declaration from the various social elements. He believes that the declaration would be able to resolve the issue in peace.
“I am grateful that you came here and it is my honor as the police chief to resolve this issue,” says Police Chief wishing the city would remain peaceful for the longest time.
Setyo believes that all issues should be resolved through talks with cool heads. He hopes, unity would eventually stitch them all back together.
“I pray that this declaration would be implemented well so that our beloved city would remain safe and secure. Thank you for you from all Bitung social representatives who are willingly to lend your hand in bringing our city to a better future,” wish Setyo.
