inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) supports the enhanced security step taken by Tanjung Mas Port in Semarang, Central Java, through a security system assessment to prevent the threat of terrorism.

BNPT Head, Eddy Hartono, emphasized that Tanjung Mas Port is a nationally vital facility that plays a crucial role in supporting the national economic wheel, thus enhancing its security system against the threat of terrorism is definitely vital.

"Tanjung Mas Port is a nationally vital facility, serving as the main gateway to the Indonesian economy. Therefore, it needs to be secured in accordance with minimum security standards against the threat of terrorism," said the BNPT Head on Wednesday (10/22/2025).

He explained that the security system assessment at Tanjung Mas Port is an effort to strengthen national defense by protecting national vital facilities in accordance with BNPT Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for the Protection of Strategic Vital Facilities and Infrastructure and Public Facilities in Preventing Criminal Acts of Terrorism.

He said these movements are part of the BNPT's strategic steps to ensure that port security systems operate according to standards to protect against potential terrorist threats.

Boy Robyanto, Director of Risk Management at PT Pelindo, fully supports the BNPT's terrorism mitigation efforts. He stated that he has prepared various measures as a commitment to maintaining port security.

The mitigation measures that have been prepared at Tanjung Mas Port, he continued, include preparing mitigation procedures for terrorist crimes that are integrated with the port security system, providing supporting equipment, implementing certified training for security personnel, and conducting regular security evaluations to ensure responsiveness to potential threats.
