The Head of the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Ramdani, stated that there were fatalities in the incident. The two victims were identified as Captain Egon E and Captain Baskoro.
"Yes, that's correct. That's the initial information (the victim was the pilot) that we have received," explained Brigadier General Faizal on Wednesday (2/11/2026).
Brigadier General Faizal explained that an investigation is currently underway to determine which armed civilian group carried out the shooting. Therefore, the details of the chronology of the incident cannot yet be explained.
According to information, the plane was en route from Tanah Merah to Danawage/Koroway Batu. The plane departed at 10:38 a.m. this morning.
The plane then landed at Koroway Batu Airport at 10:05 a.m. At that moment, shooting broke out, hitting the pilot, while the passengers fled by hiding in the forest.
