Police confirms the Asia One Air PK-LTF Airplane was shot by unknown figure in Milawak Airport, Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua on Friday (2/16/2024) at 09.52 am. “The plane was about to land in Milawak Airport before was shot at its right side,” quote Papua Regional Police PR Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo in written statement. Benny said that the plane was shot by more than one unknown figure from Ambobra Village. Those unknown group allegedly came down from Ambobra village to Julukoma village and then began shooting the plane. “The shot was then responded by joint security unit of police and military by shooting back at the group,” said the PR Chief. Furthermore, Benny states that there are no fatalities in the incident, however the right side of the plane suffered a considerable damage as a bullet pierced through to the back door of the plane. In light of the incident, Benny assured people that everything is under control and asked them to stay calm. The PR Chief told that the joint forces will investigate the incident thoroughly.
