Vote Recapitulation Process Goes Smoothly: Maluku Regional Police Chief Says

Inp.polri.go.id – Maluku. Following the vote and vote recapitulation on February 14th, 2024, in Maluku, police states that situation in the province are well under control. The Head of Maluku Regional Police Inspector General Lotharia Latif explains that based on his party monitoring, there are minor issues in polling stations, however everything has been handled by the security officials through persuasive approach. Lotharia says that if there are any intentions that aims to thwart the election process, police will respond quickly and act firm to overcome the situation. To all parties, the police chief implored to respect all process and the election results, while also maintaining harmony and peace. Furthermore, Lotharia explains that in democratic process, it is a common thing that there are those who would be disappointed with the end results. He emphasized difference in opinion should not divide a community, instead as a lesson to learn from others perspective. In preserving peace and order in the region, Lotharia urged those who claimed have found violations in the election to report to election organizers. “If there are any allegations of violations or cheating in the election, you could report it through legal approach that has been prepared through applicable mechanism and regulations,” said Lotharia. By the end of his statement, Lotharia conveys his gratitude to the election organizers and security officials who have worked hard and excellently. He asked them to maintain their performance in executing the next election process professionally and in accordance to the applicable rules. “The process of vote recapitulation in Maluku goes well and secure. Let us respect the result and maintain peace in our beloved province,” conclude the police chief. (ad/mz/pr/nm)
