inp.polri.go.id - North Sumatra. The North Sumatra Regional Police confirmed that the legal status of North Sumatra Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member Megawati Zebua in the alleged assault case will be determined after investigators receive the results of the Forensic Laboratory test.

The Head of the Public Information Sub-Directorate of the North Sumatra Regional Police, Superintendent Siti Rohani Tampubolon, stated that the lab results on the assault video are key before the investigative team can conduct a case review.

"Everything is still in progress. We are still waiting for the results of the forensic laboratory test on the alleged assault video. This lab test was conducted to confirm the authenticity of the video," she said, as reported by Mistar, Wednesday (8/20/2025).

She also stated that investigators had previously attempted a second mediation session at the request of the accused, Megawati Zebua. However, the mediation between Megawati and the complainant, Wings Air flight attendant Lidya Christine Kabrahanubun, failed to reach an agreement.

"We conducted the second mediation session recently, but it was unsuccessful as the two parties could not reach an agreement to reconcile," she said, 

Siti added that the second mediation was requested by Megawati through her legal team. However, the outcome was the same as the first mediation, with no resolution.
