Major General Nugraha Gumilar, the Head of the Indonesian Military (TNI) Information Center, strongly condemned the Free Papua Movement (OPM)'s recent assault on Aradide Military Commander, resulting in the death of Second Lieutenant Oktovianus Sogalrey, as a severe human rights violation.

Chief Nugraha emphasized the destabilizing impact on peace and development efforts in Papua, pledging active pursuit of the attackers by the Indonesian Military and Indonesian National Police (INP).
He expressed condolences for the loss of Chief Oktovianus, who was found deceased with a gunshot wound on Thursday.
Chief Oktovianus’s burial arrangements will take place in Nabire, Papua.
The situation in Paniai Regency, Central Papua, remains stable.
Lieutenant Colonel Chandra Kurniawan implicated OPM, led by Matias Gobay, in the attack against Chief Oktovianus.
