Inp.polri.go.id - Kapuas Hulu.  A subsequent landslide in Genting Lanjak, West Kalimantan impeded access to the Indonesia-Malaysia border. Sri Bintang Pamungkas, from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), explained on Friday (12/4/2024) that the national road at Bukit Genting Lanjak, Kapuas Hulu Regency, was impassable for four-wheeled vehicles due to landslides.  Efforts to allow light vehicles to pass were underway, hindered by subsequent landslides and ongoing rain.  Since Thursday, the Ministry had been using heavy equipment to clear debris. according to antaranews.com The challenge lay in the slope's location, necessitating the relocation of landslide debris over 1-1.5 kilometers.  Heavy machinery like excavators and loaders were deployed for this purpose. While motorcycles could still traverse the area, additional equipment was brought in to aid in debris removal.  Motorists were urged to be cautious, and traffic signs were installed. The initial landslide occurred early Thursday, blocking the national road connecting Putussibau to the border.  Residents were advised to remain vigilant due to potential subsequent landslides amid heavy rainfall.
