Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A fugitive linked to the stabbing of a state prosecutor in North Sumatra has been arrested by the Attorney General Office (AGO)’s Reform and Innovation Intelligence Task Force (SIRI) and a joint team in Sibolangit, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

The suspect, Eddy Suranta Gurusinga, also known as Godol, was uncooperative and resisted arrest, said AGO Head of Information Harli Siregar on Wednesday (28/5/2025).

Eddy was on the wanted list of the Deli Serdang Prosecutor’s Office for illegal firearm possession, and had been convicted by a Supreme Court ruling issued on 25 September 2024, sentencing him to one year in prison.

He was taken to Tanjung Gusta Penitentiary in Medan for execution of the sentence.

Authorities believe Eddy’s firearm case may be connected to the violent assault on Prosecutor Jhon Wesli Sinaga and civil servant Asensio Silvanof Hutabarat, allegedly carried out by APL alias Kepot and SD alias Gallo.

Harli noted that Jhon had previously communicated with APL in efforts to locate Eddy. The stabbing occurred during this search effort. Investigators are now probing any links between Eddy and the attackers.
