inp.polri.go.id - Pangkalpinang. The misuse of subsidized fuel in the Bangka Belitung Islands is a serious concern. The Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police have taken action against 229 vehicles for alleged violations in purchasing subsidized fuel.
Pertamina Patra Niaga expressed its appreciation for the police's actions and expressed its readiness to strengthen supervision with law enforcement.
"Pertamina continues to strengthen its synergy with the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Police and relevant parties to ensure the distribution of subsidized fuel," said Rusminto Wahyudi, Area Manager of Communication, Relations & CSR for Pertamina Patra Niaga of Southern Part of Sumatra in Pangkalpinang on Tuesday (9/29/2026).
The action was carried out during an operation from September 25 to 27, 2026. Of the 229 vehicles caught, 144 were found to have refueled repeatedly, 70 vehicles were using fake license plates, and 15 vehicles were using modified tanks.
"This action is an important part of ensuring that subsidized fuel distribution is on target and in accordance with regulations," he said.
Rusminto stated that Pertamina appreciates the police's steps in tightening supervision of subsidized fuel distribution. He stated that synergy with authorities will continue to be strengthened to ensure that subsidized fuel truly reaches those who deserve it.
"Pertamina Patra Niaga has instructed all distribution agencies to carry out the subsidized fuel distribution process in accordance with regulations, including ensuring consumer verification and that transactions are carried out according to procedure," he said.
Pertamina has also taken action against gas station employees suspected of involvement in the misuse of subsidized fuel at the Badau Village gas station. The gas station management has imposed sanctions in the form of termination of employment (PHK) on the operators suspected of involvement.
Furthermore, the legal process for these alleged violations will be handed over to law enforcement officials in accordance with statutory provisions.
