inp.polri.go.id - West Java. The West Java Regional Police confirmed that the situation in Bandung has returned to normal following the anarchic actions of a group of unidentified individuals at the Ir. H. Djuanda-Sulanjana intersection on Tuesday evening (10/20/2026).

The West Java Regional Police, along with the Bandung Sub-regional City Police, are now conducting a massive, in-depth investigation to hunt down and arrest all perpetrators of the attack on police vehicles and personnel.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hendra Rochmawan stated that the situation on the ground is now fully under control. Police are currently conducting an in-depth investigation to identify the perpetrators of the attack.

"Thank God, the situation in Bandung is now calm. The police are currently investigating the perpetrators of last night's attack on personnel," said Hendra on Wednesday (10/21/2026).

He explained that the series of demonstrations in Bandung City had actually proceeded orderly from noon until just before sunset at several crucial points, such as Jalan Asia Afrika, the Simpang Lima Monument, Jalan Braga, and in front of the West Java Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) office.

However, after the main protesters dispersed safely, a group of people dressed in black appeared at night and brought chaos that disrupted security, public order, and the smooth flow of traffic.

The attack on the security official vehicle resulted in dozens of Bandung Sub-regional City Police officers being injured.

"Dozens of police officers were injured in last night's attack. Nevertheless, we remain on full alert to maintain security and order. The public need not worry and are welcome to carry on with their activities as usual," emphasized Hendra.

Separately, Bandung Sub-regional City Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Dedi Supriyadi, detailed that the injured included personnel with serious injuries and minor injuries.

Hendra emphasized that the police will not remain silent and will continue to pursue the provocateurs responsible for the attack on the fleet and police personnel.
