Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Kuta Police Office in Bali have arrested a 35-year-old Azerbaijani man, identified as TFO, for allegedly robbing a local money changer and assaulting two employees.
“The suspect strangled one staff member, seized Rp 191,150,000, and attempted to flee,” said Denpasar Sub-regional Police Spokesman Assistant Senior Inspector Ketut Sukadi on Monday (28/7/2025). “He admitted the crime was driven by financial desperation.”
The suspect had arranged to exchange USD 12,000 and lured the staff of PT Arta Jaya Dewata to Aura Segara Villa in Kuta. After the employees counted the money, an accomplice posing as an Interpol officer assaulted them. The duo tried to escape with the cash but crashed during the getaway. Residents and officers caught suspect TFO while the accomplice, identified as Johny, fled and remains at large.
According to the police, he has confessed and remains in custody. Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the second suspect.
