Inp.polri.go.id - Batam.  The Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) expelled a Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) vessel from the North Natuna Sea on Monday (21/10/2024) after it disrupted a 3D seismic survey by MV Geo Coral for PT Pertamina East Natuna.

Commander of the KN Tanjung Datu 301, Colonel Rudi Endratmoko, explained that Bakamla was alerted to the intrusion by its Command Center.

The MV Geo Coral was accompanied by three escort vessels when CCG 5402 was detected entering Indonesia’s continental shelf, according to antaranews.com.

KN Tanjung Datu-301 contacted the Chinese vessel via radio, but the CCG insisted the area was under Chinese jurisdiction. Indonesian Navy ship KRI Sutedi Senapura 378 and a Bakamla patrol aircraft joined the operation.

Together, the Indonesian forces shadowed and successfully expelled the CCG 5402 from Indonesian waters.

"This operation shows Bakamla’s dedication to maintaining security and sovereignty in Indonesia’s strategic maritime zones," Commander Rudi said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
