Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar.  The Bali administration has officially prohibited permits for tourism development on productive land as part of a new directive signed by Governor Wayan Koster.

"Starting this year, no more permits will be issued for tourism facilities on productive land," he said during an assembly session in Denpasar on Monday (28/7/2025). "I've signed the instruction and will meet with all regents and mayors to enforce it."

This policy is part of the governor’s “clean-up” program launched in his second term, aligning with Bali’s 100-Year Development Vision (2025–2125). Governor Koster has directly led demolitions of illegal tourism buildings, including nearly 50 structures on Bingin Beach built on protected state land.

“I’m not afraid. This will continue. Enforcement won’t stop at Bingin,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Support from Bali’s legislative council is crucial, especially for addressing illegal businesses such as unauthorized massage and spa operations, the governor said.
