Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Bali Regional Police uncovered a significant drug distribution attempt on Sunday, seizing 1,284 ecstasy pills worth an estimated 1.28 billion rupiah during a raid in the South Kuta district.

"The narcotics were intended for distribution across various nightclubs and cafes," said Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Director Superintendent Radiant during a press conference in Denpasar on Tuesday (14/4/2026), as reporte by antaranews.com.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old courier, identified by the initials AB, following a tip-off regarding suspicious transactions in Bualu Village. A subsequent search of the suspect's residence in Pemogan led to the discovery of five plastic clips containing pink tablets hidden above a ceiling panel, totaling approximately 634 grams.

The suspect, who claimed financial hardship as his primary motive, was reportedly acting under the direction of an unidentified handler currently on the police wanted list. Authorities estimate this seizure saved over 1,200 individuals from potential substance abuse. The suspect now faces severe charges under the Narcotics Law, which carries maximum penalties including life imprisonment or the death penalty.
