Inp.polri.go.id - Bandung. Bandung Sub-regional Police have arrested 75 suspects involved in various acts of extortion and intimidation across the city in an anti-thuggery operation launched on Wednesday (14/5/2025).
Bandung Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Budi Sartono, emphasized the force’s firm stance against public disorder. “Our commitment is clear: there is no place for thuggery in Bandung,” he stated during a press briefing.
The arrested suspects were allegedly engaged in coercive acts, including extorting money from market vendors, forcibly selling bottled water, and operating as illegal parking attendants demanding payments from motorists.
“These acts were committed in crowded areas like markets, tourist sites, and public spaces,” Budi explained.
He confirmed the operation will continue regularly to ensure public safety. Suspects are currently undergoing questioning, and legal action will be taken if criminal elements are found.
