Inp.polri.go.id - Pandeglang. The Banten Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Hengki, confirmed on Friday (11/9/2026), that a life jacket and buoy recovered during search operations do not belong to the missing vessel Arupadhatu 1.
The vessel carried five journalists who went missing while covering the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau on Monday.
"Based on our inspection, the recovered orange life jacket and white buoy are not safety equipment owned by the Arupadhatu 1," Chief Hengki said at the Marina Carita Pier SAR Post in Pandeglang, Banten.
Ship owner Sandi verified the police's findings after confirming his vessel was equipped with different safety gear before departure. Meanwhile, the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) expanded search operations on day four, deploying 13 vessels from the Military, Police, and Basarnas across four sectors to locate the missing journalists.
