inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Bapanas (National Food Agency) launched the 2025 Corn Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) distribution program. This program targets independent micro, small, and medium-scale layer farmers.

The Head of Bapanas, Arief Prasetyo Adi, said this step is in accordance with President Prabowo's directive. The government was asked to maintain corn prices to protect farmers and breeders.

A total of 52,400 tons of corn are ready to be distributed to layer farmers. A budget of IDR 78 billion has been prepared so that distribution runs smoothly until the end of the year.

"The point is that today we can begin stabilizing food price supplies. While usually rice, today there is corn, this corn is ready in stock and ready to be distributed 52,400 tons, the budget prepared by the National Food Agency is IDR 78 billion so independent breeders don't need to worry," he said, as reported by  RRI on Wednesday (9/24/2025).

The price of corn at the farmer level is now set at IDR 5,500 per kilogram. Distribution, drying, and processing costs are covered by the government through the State Logistics Agency (Bulog).

He emphasized that this program also supports the stability of national food production. Bulog has prepared 70,000 tons of corn reserves in case of supply disruptions.

Suwardi, Chairman of the Kendal Prosperous Poultry Breeders Cooperative (KPUS), expressed his gratitude for the Government Corn Reserve (CJP) program. He considered this program came at the right time.

He stated that corn supplies are currently low and prices are quite high. The presence of CJP is believed to help stabilize livestock breeders' needs.

"We are very grateful for the CJP program, which will be launched at the right time because, coincidentally, supplies are also somewhat low and prices are quite high," he explained

He further emphasized that this program will not harm farmers. Instead, the policy will continue to protect farmers and livestock breeders.

He stated that the reference purchase price of IDR 5,500 has been accepted by farmers. This way, a balance between farmers and livestock breeders can be maintained.
