Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. Barelang Sub-regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Anggoro Wicaksono attended a community outreach event distributing 1,000 rice packages to orphans and residents of Sekupang District, Batam, Riau Islands, on Sunday (13/9/2026). 

Jointly organized by the Batam City administration, Barelang Police, and PSSI Batam City at Villa Sempurna Housing, the social initiative aimed to support regional food security and assist low-income households.

Each beneficiary received a five-kilogram bag of rice during the event, which was also attended by Batam Mayor Amsakar Achmad.

"This activity serves as an effort to support residents while helping control local inflation rates," said Mayor Achmad, highlighting Batam's growing economic development.

Police officers from the Barelang Police and Sekupang Sector Police secured the venue to ensure orderly distribution. Authorities reiterated that residents can contact the official Police Call Center 110 hotline for emergency assistance or security reports.
