Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) reminds to political parties who supports the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to hold back not to head start the campaign before its schedule. “We have warned them. What is important is that there should be no attempts to persuade, especially at the election organizing institutions,” said Bagja to journalists, Wednesday (11/15/2023). Bagja stressed that the presidential and vice-presidential candidates are allowed to campaign on November 28th, 2023. For that, political parties and the candidates are urged to hold back before its set time. “We have reminded them that now is not the time for campaign. Now is the period of socialization, not campaign,” adds Bagja. Moreover, Bagja also highlighted the vulnerabilities of state apparatus bias during the elections. He hopes that during the 2024 General Election, state apparatus would be able to maintain their neutrality. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
