Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) reveals election vulnerability index after analyzing social media shows hate speech as the most prominent cases. The institution found 50% vulnerabilities are related to the hate speech.
Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenty states following vulnerabilities potentials are campaigning with hoax information which covers 30% of vulnerability cases. Then the other 20% are racism campaign.
“This means campaign vulnerability in social media containing hate speech is dominating even in provincial level,” she said in her written statement on Tuesday (10/31/2023).
In regency/city level, campaign containing hoaxes or misinformation has become the highest vulnerabilities potential with 33% of cases found.
“There are differences in province and city levels,” he said.
